"You've Got a Friend in Me" ..."And as the years go by.. Our friendship will Never die!" Steven was a tender heart who has touched many lives. He loved people and loved his friends.
He would say hi to anyone he saw. I will never forget the time he would not stop slapping the guy behind him in our booth one day at lunch. He must have slapped the guy 3 times before the guy finally turned around and said hi. Steven thought that was so funny. He insisted on making friends!
Steven was the type of boy who would hug you when you were sad. He would kiss all your boo- boo's away. He was so empathetic that he would feel your pains and worries. He would likewise have you kiss all his boo- boo's until it became a game. He loved the boo- boo game. He will continue to kiss our boo- boo's, but there are not tears in Heaven, so he will not cry out for me anymore. I will always mourn for my beloved little Steven. "And as the years go by, our friendship will NEVER die."
Toy Story was Steven's favorite movie. He never got tired of it and laughed through the same parts each time! One of his favorite parts in the movie was the part where Buzz Lightyear fell off the building and Woody said "You're not falling! You're flying....with style!". Buzz lightyear was also his favorite character. He wore the same pair of Buzz lightyear shoes everyday, until finally, they wore out, but luckily he was able to spot another pair! He would not wear any other shoes! And everything was Buzz Buzz Buzz! He had all the Buzz Lightyear apparell he could find...including the Buzz Lightyear shirt he was wearing the day I woke to find he had passed. Steven's Grandma Mary made him a Buzz Lightyear costume for Halloween, in which sadly we never got to see him wear! Steven took his costume with him on that October 11th 2003, and as his Grandma Mary knows him so well, I am sure she is right in that Steven would have told us "He's not falling" "He's flying...with style!" As it has just passed October 11th's 7 year anniversay of his death..I have to believe he is getting ready for Halloween again...and he will ALWAYS be our little Buzz!
"You've Got a Friend in Me" was picked and dedicated to Steven not only because it was his favorite, but also because it describe how Steven was! Steven was the sweetest, most loving, most sensitive, caring little boy! When you really listen to the words of this song, you will recieve the message and values in which my son even at the age of 3 1/2 lived his life by!
